Oropallo has always preferred a systematic approach to painting and has used photo-based and digital methodologies to create her work. Although the language of deliberation is painting, the computer rather than the brush is the conduit. Her use of the web as an infinite source for raw material speaks to themes surrounding the nature of culture, commodity, fantasy and desire.
Her works are included in numerous museum collections including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Oropallo presented a solo exhibition of the series Guise at the de Young Museum in 2007. She is represented by the Catherine Clark Gallery in SF.
Born 1954 in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Lives and works in Novato, California.
