Radcliffe Bailey (November 25, 1968- November 15, 2023) explored American history and memory to encourage healing and transcendence through art. The New York Times describes artist Radcliffe Bailey’s shimmering, shape-shifting works as being fueled by an exploration of “Black Atlantic culture, the vital, nurturing, agitated link between Africa and the Americas.”
His work is included in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Georgia; the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C; and the Dallas Museum of Art, Texas, among others.
